The Wind River Bear Institute Director, Nils Pedersen, conducted a Wildlife K-9 Lab for students in the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Wildlife 101 class; introducing young wildlife students to the many uses of working dogs for wildlife conservation with a focus on the use of Karelian Bear Dogs for bear conservation and applied management. Dr. Mark Lindberg took some nice pictures of the students (below) and the Wildlife K-9s (left to right): Rio, Mardy, and Soledad during the field component of the lab.
